In 2017 an investor acquired a controlling stake in LiteBox — a cloud service for the automation of retail trade. Anticipating a substantial influx of customers, the management aimed to transition from a hierarchical organizational structure to one that could facilitate adaptable and scalable product development processes.
The audit revealed extended product development cycles, excessive hierarchical layers, conflicting goals across departments, and the lack of a cohesive vision and strategic plan within the company. We trained the employees, streamlined the organizational structure, set new objectives, and initiated a pilot area composed of seven teams.
In six months of transformation, the Product Group grew from 28 to 60 developers, while Time2Market decreased by half. At the moment, eight feature teams are developing the Litebox product with one Product Backlog and one Product Owner. The company is now a leader in the cloud retail market.
